Feeders
Devices for presenting foods for birds, usually designed in the form of tubes or boxes, in contrast to seed trays and bird tables, although there is some overlap in meaning. The main categories of feeders are these:
- hanging feeders, including mesh-type feeders (e.g., for peanuts) and tubular feeders
- ground feeders
- window feeders
The best-known manufacturer of these devices is the American firm Droll Yankees Inc..
wooden feeders are traditional and often attractive but modern versions made of metal, plastic or woodcrete are now very popular.
