Hospitals
In some areas it is possible to take sick and injured birds to a person or centre where expert treatment can be given. In most cases this will be done on an entirely voluntary basis, and some sort of payment would be appropriate. Bird hospitals may specialise in one particular group of birds, such as swans or birds of prey, or in treatment of oiled seabirds. A directory of hospitals for birds is included in the annual publication "The Birdwatcher's Yearbook and Diary", which is obtainable from booksellers. It should be noted that the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), although happy to give advice, does not itself offer treatment for sick or injured birds. A general wildlife hospital is St Tiggywinkles, Aston Road, Haddenham, Buckinghamshire HP17 8AF, UK (telephone 01844-292292).A Bird On! Definition from the Encyclopaedia of Birdcare
