Seed Eaters
Birds adapted for eating seed and similar items such as pips and nuts. The best known examples are finches and sparrows, recognisable by their heavy conical bills suitable for crushing hard food. Some of these birds, like House Sparrows and Chaffinches, will also eat insects or feed them to their young. A variety of seed is available for catering for these species in the garden.A Bird On!
