Bluethroat

Luscinia svecica

Smile

Singing birds have several times been recorded, particularly in Scotland, and a nest with eggs and female were recorded in the Spey Valley in 1968 (no male seen). The RBBP also have a successful record for 1995. This was of the race svecica but colonisation of East Anglia or Kent by the white-spotted form cyanecula from the expanding population in the Netherlands is also possible.
